The person behind the project

Meet Meredith Colby.

Founder, The Better Project
For much of my career, I’ve helped people make sense of complicated challenges, find practical solutions, and turn big ideas into meaningful action. My work in accessibility and my experience in yoga have shaped how I approach personal growth: with curiosity, attention to individual needs, and a focus on what actually works in real life.
I created The Better Project to bring that approach to the ways we grow, navigate change, and shape our lives. Through coaching, somatic yoga, and intentional experiences, I help people explore new perspectives, reconnect with what matters, and make meaningful changes on their own terms.
Room for the ordinary, and everything it holds.

You don't have to fix yourself to change your life.

There’s no shortage of advice about becoming a better version of yourself. The Better Project takes a different approach: start with who you are and the life you’re living now.

That means getting clear on what matters to you, being honest about what’s not working, and exploring what could change. Not chasing someone else’s idea of success. Not trying to get every part of your life right. Just finding a way forward that works for you.

Meredith’s approach

Practical thinking. Personal insight. A whole-person perspective.

My approach brings together practical problem-solving, self-discovery, and body awareness. We’ll look at what’s happening in your life, get curious about the patterns and priorities shaping it, and pay attention to what you experience—not just what you think.

01

Practical, not prescriptive

Your time, responsibilities, and circumstances matter. We’ll explore realistic options and useful next steps that fit your life, rather than follow a formula for how you should live.

02

Curious, not corrective

We’ll make space for questions, conflicting feelings, and changing priorities. The goal isn’t to judge old patterns or force a quick fix, but to understand what’s happening and decide what serves you now.

03

Embodied, not abstract

How you experience a situation matters, too. Through body awareness and mindful movement, we’ll explore what you notice, what feels supportive, and where you may want to make a different choice.

The way we work

Progress that fits real life.

There’s no prescribed path or checklist to complete. We start with what’s happening now, explore what might help, and make adjustments as you learn more about yourself and what works for you.

Take stock

Look at what’s taking your attention, what’s working well, and what feels harder than it needs to be. There’s no need to have the answers before we begin.

Find the thread

Explore the values, habits, expectations, and experiences influencing your choices. Sometimes a different perspective is enough to help you see a situation in a new way.

Make it practical

Identify a manageable step you can try in your everyday life. It might be a different response, a clearer boundary, or a new way of approaching a familiar challenge.

Learn as you go

Pay attention to what changes, what feels helpful, and what still needs attention. Use what you learn to refine your approach, without treating every detour as a setback.

One project. Different ways in.

Better isn't a destination. It's a practice.

Sometimes a conversation helps you see a challenge differently. Sometimes movement helps you slow down and pay attention. And sometimes being with others brings a fresh perspective. Coaching, somatic yoga, and shared experiences offer different ways to explore change, each with its own purpose and room for you to make it your own.

Your next step can be small

Let’s find your way.

Maybe you have a specific goal in mind. Maybe you just know something isn’t working the way you’d like. Either way, you don’t need a plan before you reach out. Tell Meredith a little about where you are, ask your questions, and start a conversation about what might help.
There’s more than one way forward.

A more intentional way forward.
