Personal growth. A more intentional way forward.

A good life should feel good to live.

You spend a lot of time managing responsibilities, meeting expectations, and figuring things out. The Better Project helps you slow down, get clear on what you need, and make changes that work in real life.
A good place to start is right where you are.

GROUNDED IN WHO YOU ARE. OPEN TO WHAT’S NEXT.

OUR APPROACH

helping ambitious people build lives that are as sustainable as they are successful.

You need space to understand what matters, recognize what isn’t working, and find a way forward that feels right for you. Here, we make room for all of it without rushing you toward someone else’s version of better.

Ways to work together

Different ways to meet your goals.

Start with a conversation, a moment of movement, or a shared experience. There is no one right place to begin.
Corporate coaching offering

01 Coaching

Explore what’s no longer working, challenge the patterns keeping you stuck, and create a practical plan for what comes next.

02 Somatic yoga

Slow down, move with intention, and pay attention to what your body is telling you—without pressure to perform or get it right.

03 Retreats & Experiences

Step away from the usual routine, make room for new perspectives, and spend time exploring what matters to you.
A little space can change the conversation.

01 / Coaching

Make room for what matters to you.

Sometimes you need more than another pros-and-cons list or advice from someone who doesn’t quite get it. You need space to think honestly about where you are and what you want to do about it.
Coaching combines thoughtful conversation with practical problem-solving. Together, we’ll sort through the noise, look at what’s keeping you stuck, and find next steps that make sense for your life.

02 / Somatic yoga

Less performing. More noticing.

Yoga doesn’t have to be about touching your toes, mastering a pose, or pushing through one more thing.
Somatic yoga offers a different approach: gentle movement, breath, and attention to physical sensations, without the pressure to look a certain way or achieve a particular result.
You don’t need to be flexible or have previous yoga experience. Come as you are.

03 / Intentional experiences

Step out of the everyday. Make room for something different.

It’s hard to hear yourself think when life is moving at full speed. Sometimes a change of setting—and time away from the usual demands—can help you see things differently.

Ways to work together

Small shifts. Meaningful change.

You don’t need to overhaul your life to start changing it. We focus on understanding what’s happening now and finding realistic ways to move forward.

Pause & notice

Make a little space to notice your thoughts, your feelings, your body, and the parts of daily life that may need your attention.

Get curious

Explore what matters to you, what’s no longer working, and which habits or expectations may be getting in the way.

Try something small

Make a little space to notice your thoughts, your feelings, your body, and the parts of daily life that may need your attention.

Reflect & adjust

Notice what helps, learn from what doesn’t, and adjust as your needs and circumstances evolve.
Room for the ordinary, and everything it holds.

The person behind the project

Meet Meredith Colby.

Founder, The Better Project
I founded The Better Project around a simple belief: personal growth doesn’t have to start with the idea that something is wrong with you.
Through coaching, somatic yoga, and intentional experiences, I help people navigate change, get clearer on what matters, and find practical ways to create a life that feels more like their own.

A few things to know

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

A little clarity before you take the next step. And space for your questions, too.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?

Not at all. Maybe something feels off. Maybe you're facing a decision or just want time to think about what you want next. You don't need a polished goal or a five-year plan. Getting clear can be part of the process.

How do I choose where to begin?

Think about what would be most helpful right now. Coaching offers space for conversation, reflection, and practical next steps. Somatic yoga offers time to explore movement and body awareness. Retreats and experiences give you a chance to step away from your routine and reflect in a different setting. If you're unsure, we can talk it through.

Do I need experience with yoga?

No. Somatic yoga isn't about being flexible or getting a pose right. It's an opportunity to explore gentle movement and notice your own experience. You can adapt, pause, or rest whenever you need to.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Coaching focuses on reflection, goals, decisions, and practical next steps. It isn't a substitute for mental health diagnosis or treatment. If you're looking for clinical support, a qualified mental health professional can help you determine what care is right for you.

Your next step can be small

Let’s begin with a conversation.

You don’t need to know exactly what you need or have the right words to explain it. Tell me a little about what’s going on, what you’ve been thinking about, or what you’d like to change.
You don’t need the right words. Yours will do.
