02 / Somatic yoga

Less performing. More noticing.

Mindful movement, breath and body awareness. An invitation to slow down, explore what you feel and reconnect with yourself—without a pose to perfect.
Meet yourself exactly where you are.

A different way to move

Your body isn’t another project to get right.

Somatic yoga is a way to slow down, notice what you feel, and explore movement without worrying about getting a pose right. Instead of focusing on how a movement looks, you pay attention to how it feels—from the support beneath you to the ease of a small stretch.
There’s no single right way to participate. You can adapt a movement, pause, use support, or rest. The goal isn’t to push harder or perform better. It’s to discover what feels comfortable, useful, and right for you.

Nothing to prove. Something to notice.

What a session can involve

Simple movement. Your own experience.

Arrive as you are

Take a moment to settle and notice how you’re feeling. You don’t need to arrive calm.

Explore, gently

Small, unhurried movements, attention to breath and moments of stillness. You may sit, lie down or use support, as feels appropriate.

Listen & choose

Try an invitation, change it or leave it. There is always room to pause and simply notice.

Adaptive yoga

Movement that meets you where you are.

Adaptive yoga offers gentle, adaptable movement and body awareness for people with disabilities and older adults living with dementia.
Practices can include seated or supported movements, with options shaped around each person’s abilities, comfort, and needs.
Family members and caregivers are welcome to take part as we explore what support may be helpful.

Gentle pace

Movements are gentle and flexible, with time to pause, rest, or adjust as needed.

Supportive options

You can use a chair, blocks, blankets or other supports to help you feel grounded and comfortable.

Care built around you

We'll discuss access needs, comfort, and preferences before beginning, so the experience feels respectful and appropriate for each person.

Use Start Here to share a little about yourself or the person you’re supporting. We’ll discuss your needs, answer your questions, and help you get started.

You set the pace

An invitation, never an instruction to push through.

No flexibility or previous yoga experience is needed. Share any questions about access or comfort before you begin, so you and Meredith can explore what feels appropriate for you.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Here’s what to expect.

What if I’ve never done yoga?

Everyone is welcome. This is not about achieving elaborate poses. The focus is on noticing your own experience, with options to adapt or rest.

Can I ask about a team session?

Yes. Choose Corporate / group sessions or Start Here. Tell Meredith about your group, the setting and what you would like to explore together.

What should I know before beginning?

Ask about the session format, what to wear or bring, and any access needs in your inquiry. There is space to talk through your questions before deciding.

Your next step can be small

Find a little more room in your day.

Looking for a private practice, a group class or something for your organization? Tell Meredith what you’re curious about. You can work out the next step together.
You don’t need the right words. Yours will do.

A more intentional way forward.
