Our Story

Personalised Care, Built Around You

For over three decades, Burnside Family Practice — formerly Linden Park Medical Clinic — has been a familiar, trusted presence for families across Burnside and the surrounding suburbs.

We believe healthcare works best when it’s personal. Wherever possible, we encourage patients to maintain an ongoing relationship with their own doctor — getting to know your history helps your doctor provide more considered, continuous care over time.

When We’re Open

Practice Hours

Wherever possible, we encourage you to see your own doctor for ongoing care — continuity helps us understand your health history and provide the best possible care over time.

Patient Information

Everything You Need to Know

A quick guide to how our practice works day-to-day — from waiting times to how we handle your results.

Waiting Times

We aim to be as punctual as possible, however medical emergencies may occasionally cause delays — emergencies are always given priority. Please call us if you’d like to check whether your doctor is running on time, and let us know if you no longer require your appointment.

Cancellations

Due to high demand for appointments, please notify us as soon as possible if you’re unable to attend — this allows your appointment to become available to another patient. Cancellation fees may apply in some circumstances.

Repeat Prescriptions

To monitor your health and fulfil our ethical and legal responsibilities, an appointment with your regular doctor (or another available doctor) is required for repeat prescriptions, medical certificates, referral letters and results.

When you register as a new patient, we ask you to complete a registration form. This helps us understand your cultural background so we can provide care that respects your needs, and to record accurate Medicare details, your address and an emergency contact.

Please let reception know whenever your contact details change. We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your health records, and have protocols in place to safeguard your privacy.

Pathology results, radiology results and specialist letters are reviewed by your doctor before being discussed with you — for this reason, results are not given over the phone.

A monitored recall system is in place, and you will be contacted if your doctor needs to see you urgently. We also operate reminder systems for cervical screening, immunisations, care plan reviews, health assessments and other preventive care.

Our reception and nursing team are available to take your call during surgery hours. Our staff are unable to give clinical information, including results, over the phone.

If you’d like to leave a message for your doctor, please allow up to 3 business days for a response, or make an appointment for anything requiring discussion. Urgent medical problems are always triaged appropriately by our team.

Electronic mail is monitored throughout practice hours, however patients are encouraged to call rather than email, and to use our online or telephone booking system for appointments.

For privacy purposes, we are unable to send or receive private and confidential information, such as patient records, via email. Where relevant, electronic communications may become part of your health record.
