Prof Gary Wittert
MBBch, MD, FRACP, FRCP, FAHMS
Prof Gary Wittert is an Endocrinologist and a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
After initial rural practice, he completed training in General Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in Christchurch, New Zealand, followed by postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School and Oregon Health Sciences University.
He joined the University of Adelaide in 1994, received a Personal Chair in 2004, and currently serves as Head of the Discipline of Medicine. He directs the Freemasons Foundation Centre for Men’s Health Research, works as Senior Consultant Endocrinologist at Royal Adelaide Hospital, and holds the position of Senior Principal Fellow at SAHMRI. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.
