Privacy Policy for EatPlayToday
Last updated: July 24, 2026
EatPlayToday (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a business discovery app for the Tri-Cities, Washington area, developed by Versatile Media Group, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using EatPlayToday, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Stored On Your Device
Favorites — When you favorite a business, we store that choice locally on your device. This is not tied to your name or identity, only to your device.
App Preferences — Your theme (Light/Dark/System) and language (English/Español/System) selections are stored locally on your device.
None of this information is transmitted to us or shared with any third party. It stays on your device unless you choose to create an account in the future (see Section 4).
1.2 Analytics Information (via Firebase Analytics)
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used, so we can improve it. This includes: which screens you view within the app, general app usage events (e.g., favoriting a business), general non-precise device and app information, and aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics.
Firebase Analytics does not collect your name, email address, or precise location through the app. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
1.3 Crash and Diagnostic Data (via Firebase Crashlytics)
On Android devices, if the app crashes or encounters an error, we automatically receive a diagnostic report to help us identify and fix the problem. These reports do not include personal information you have entered into the app.
1.4 Business Listing Data
The businesses shown in the app (names, descriptions, categories, hours, and location) are sourced from our business directory and, where available, from Google Places. This is publicly available business information, not personal information about you.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to operate and maintain the app, understand which features are used, diagnose technical problems, and ensure the app performs correctly across devices. We do not sell your information. We do not use your information for advertising.
3. Third-Party Services
EatPlayToday uses Google Firebase Analytics, Google Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Places. See policies.google.com/privacy for details.
4. Accounts (Future Feature)
At this time, EatPlayToday does not require or offer user accounts — all data stays on your device. If we introduce optional accounts in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy in advance.
5. Data Retention
Information stored locally on your device remains until you delete the app or clear its data. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google’s standard retention practices.
6. Children’s Privacy
EatPlayToday is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Choices
You can clear Favorites and preferences at any time by clearing the app’s data in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
